It is with much regret that the Lodge
announces the passing to the Grand Lodge above of Bro. Thomas Gilbert
Sutherland a much respected Past Master of Lodge St. Andrew Livingston
Station No.1587 and Lodge Water of Leith No.1267
Gibby passed away in the early evening of Saturday 26th. April 2008 after a period of ill health. He was born on the 10th November 1918 and would have celebrated his 90th birthday later this year. Bro. Gibby Sutherland PM was initiated into Lodge Water of Leith No.1267 many years ago and rose to the high rank of Right Worshipful Master before affiliating to Lodge St. Andrew No.1587. Gibby took office in Lodge St. Andrew and progressed through the offices. From 1978 to 1979 he occupied the Chair of King Solomon as Right Worshipful Master. He was a popular figure both in the Lodge and outside of the Lodge as a professional Scottish singer and entertainer.
